These days, a writer without a website or a blog is like a politician without a platform. The good news is that it’s far easier to put the Internet to work for you than it is to win an election. This class will cover the technical aspects of launching a web site and blog, infusing them with content and marketing them to the masses. By analyzing other successful sites as they build their own, students will come away with all the tools necessary to become cyber-savvy.
Kemila Velan is an independent journalist who also happens to write HTML code. Her collection of blogs include EthicalMarkets.com, TheFemmebots.com, TheYummiest.com and BiscayneWriters.com.
