1. Write two idea paragraphs; a sample can be found under Course Documents; print them and bring them to class
2. Read any attached stories and also browse the Trade Press such as Variety.com and/or Cynopsis.com
3. Read “Underlying Property” under Course Documents/Producer’s Sourcebook; make sure to go the the websites mentioned in the chapter and be able to answer the questions. I will not collect these answers but they will be useful for class discussion and for studying for the midterm exam.
4. Read “Notes on Life Rights” under Course Documents/Producer’s Sourcebook
5. Read and study Underlying Property Terms and The Producer Terms under Course Documents/Film and Video Industry Terms.
6. Access under External Links the websites for: Copyright, Industry Trade Publications and Information Sources, Proposals/Pitching, and Industry Associations and Groups.
